Chiaphua The Company
- 1922 - Chiap Hua Group was founded in Swatow, China.
- “Chiap Hua” is a Chinese expression the embodies the Spirit of Enterprise and Harmony of partnership.
- 1950’s – Joint Venture established with WESTCLOX
- 1959 - Chiap Hua Clocks and Watches Ltd established
- 1960’s – OEM manufacturing business established
- 1972 - “Equity Time” Brand established
- 1981 – The Company’s non clock business now far exceeds it’s clock business making it necessary to change the parent company’s name to “Chiaphua Industries Limited”.
- 1992 - Awarded ISO9002 certification for its expertise in precision engineering and its continued drive for excellence.
- OEM manufacturing includes a diverse product range including kitchen appliances , gas grills, computers, telephones, security locks , dental care products, power tools, ocean going containers, plush toys as well as the traditional watches and clocks.
- Companies supplied by Chiaphua Industries include US Companies such as Black and Decker (power tools and Dust Buster products), Dewalt, Singer, Salton (George Foreman Grill), Charbroil, Bausch&Lomb, Bell South, Yale, Welbilt, Conair, Homedics and many others.
- Chiaphua continues to be a privately held company with sales in the billions.
Milestones
- Chiaphua shipped over 600 MILLION cordless toothbrushes worldwide to companies such as Colgate, Interplak etc. in 2001
- Equity sold over 1.2 MILLION Atomic clocks in the US market in 2001
- First projection clock to retail under $20 in 2001
- First in the 2001 market with Quartz Electrics. Introducing a new unit for 2002 complete with EL and Battery Backup
- 2002 -Night Vision for LCD's -Patent Pending
